NMA Classic Fighting Circuit
The NMA hosts several tournaments throughout the country at Club, Provincial and National level. The larger of these tournaments are known as “CLASSICS”. These tournaments serve many purposes and are exciting in concept. Please allow us to explain.
First we need to ensure you first know what it is that makes the NMA and Paul Caves mixed martial arts academy so unique! It’s all about what we have to offer! Amongst others, the following divisions are unique to NMA:

- SPORT JIU-JITU (GRAPPLING)
- SELF DEFENCE DIVISIONS
- POWER/CREATIVE & SPEED BREAKING
- WEAPONS FORMS
- TRADITIONAL KATA
- MMA FIGHTING
- HIGH KICK CHALLENGE
- BLACK BELT OPEN GRAND CHAMPIONSHIPS
- PRO/AM TITLE FIGHTS
- LOW KICK (K1 FORMAT FIGHTING)
- TAG TEAM FIGHTING (POINTS)
- MUSICAL FORMS
- UNISON KATA/FORMS
- XTREME KICKING CHALLENGE
The CLASSIC series is unique in that it has many benefits for the attending participants. Firstly, there is multiple divisions to enter, increasing your chances of winning titles and being selected as a member of the Provincial team to attend DESTINY the official SA Sport Martial Arts Championships at which trials are held for National selections to attend the World Championships each year. It is also very important that you know that all of our tournaments are multi styled events. Meaning that we have participants competing against each other from many different styles. Kickboxers, traditional karateka, Tae Kwando, Muay Thai Fighters, Wrestlers, Grapplers and MMA fighters all compete against each other for the NMA/ISKA titles on offer.
Everyone placing 1st to 4th at any of these tournaments will receive points for their position in each category they enter. By the following years DESTINY, whoever has attended the most classic events throughout SA and achieved the highest rating will be awarded a complete buy of the entire first round of elimination fights in their competitive divisions.
Ratings will also be used annually to determine special national awards on the fighting circuit. These competitors will receive floating trophies, certificates Sanctioned NMA Titles and of course BRAGGING RIGHTS!
These tournaments are all OPEN tournaments which any affiliated and non affiliated individuals or clubs may enter from any style!
